Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall of approximately 7833 C-Class sedans due to a restraint system failure because of a possible parts corrosion issue.

Which Mercedes-Benz models are affected by the recall?

What causes the restraint system failure?

Internal components may become corroded thus making the restraint system parts fail, and the airbags may be deactivated. Other components may be triggered in the restraint system as well, and can cause accident or injury in a crash.

Are there any known accidents attributed to the defect?

At this time, no known accidents have been reported by Mercedes-Benz attributing to the defect.

What do I do if my car is one of those affected?

Mercedes-Benz will be notifying all owners affected by the recall soon and will inspect the restraint system and component parts and replace if necessary, free of charge.
