Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall of approximately 290 model year 2014 S550 vehicles due to a faulty seat belt anchor.

Which Mercedes-Benz models are affected by the recall?

Model year 2014 S550 models manufactured from April 11, 2013 through October 14, 2013.

What causes the faulty seat belt anchor?

The front seat belt anchors may have been installed improperly and could come loose during a crash. If this were to happen, an increase in risk of injury could occur to the passenger strapped into the seat belt.

Are there any known accidents attributed to the defect?

At this time, no known accidents have been reported by Mercedes-Benz attributing to the defect.

What do I do if my car is one of those affected?

Mercedes-Benz will be notifying all owners affected by the recall in December 2013. Mercedes-Benz will correct the front seat belt fitting, free of charge.
