Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall of approximately 126,000 vehicles due to an issue that may cause airbags to inflate without a crash.

Which Mercedes-Benz models are affected by the recall?

Model year 2008-2009 C-300, C-350 and C-63, and model year 2010 GLK-350 4-Matic.

What causes the airbag issue?

A manufacturing error in the airbag control unit may corrode and malfunction, making airbags deploy without warning, or even not inflate during a crash.

Are there any known accidents attributed to the defect?

At this time, three unintended airbag deployments have occurred in the U.S.

What do I do if my car is one of those affected?

Mercedes-Benz will be notifying all owners affected by the recall by the end of 2015 and will inspect the airbag control unit and replace free of charge.
