Check the fluids in your vehicle to ensure proper performance and prevent any issues

The colder weather is here, which means your Mercedes-Benz needs to be fully prepared for it. It is important to check many of the fluids in your Mercedes-Benz to ensure proper performance and to help prevent any cold-related issues. Check these fluids off your list as we move in to chillier temperatures.
Engine Oil: Obviously something you want checked, changed and topped-off regularly. If you are in a very cold climate, consider switching to winter-grade oil, which is lower in viscosity.
Coolant/Antifreeze: Have a specialized Mercedes-Benz repair tech inspect the coolant system for leaks, and have them add coolant to the reservoir if needed, as well as confirm the proper ratio of water to antifreeze mixture.
Brake Fluid: Dark or dirty brake fluid may need to be replaced, as it can lead to reduced braking performance in cold weather. Make sure the brake fluid is at the correct level within the recommendation for your Mercedes-Benz.
Transmission Fluid: Your local Mercedes-Benz service mechanic can check to make sure transmission fluid is clean and at the correct level to the specifications for your Mercedes-Benz.
Power Steering Fluid: To avoid steering difficulties, the power steering fluid must be at the proper level and topped-off if necessary. The cold can sometimes thicken this fluid, which may lead to harder steering.
Windshield Washer Fluid: Using winter-grade washer fluid is a good idea in winter because it won’t freeze. Be sure to have this checked and replaced if necessary.
Differential Fluid: Replace the differential fluid for AWD/4WD Mercedes-Benz vehicles before winter strikes to ensure proper lubrication and function in cold conditions.
