Apple revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show that it will be bringing their iOS operating system to Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and other automobile dashboards, called CarPlay.

CarPlay is Apple’s new way of integrating an iPhone into the infotainment system. It allows drivers to make phone calls and access messages through Siri, and integrates Apple maps and allows drivers to play music—all hand-free. This technology can be operated by the infotainment system controls or by activating Siri.

CarPlay will be available on select Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo models initially, and will be available to other automakers in the future.
