Friday afternoon, about 3:30, in parking lot, car would crank, but not start. thought need a tow. Called Hoover, was told to wait a while (to cool down) and try again. Waited about 15min, tried again, started. Drove to Hoover, left running in parking lot. Tech came out, and discussed problem (thinking I would have to leave car or drive home and replace part). Mike came out discussed with tech and I. Diagnosis was bad crank position sensor. Part was in stock. Thought would buy part, drive home and replace. (I spent 45+ years in auto service industry). Even though was late Friday afternoon, Mike had tech replace on the spot, in the parking lot. Problem solved! Cost was extremely reasonable, considering Mercedes parts are always expensive).
So... how is that for turning what could have been a potentially bad experience into a minor inconvenience? I will continue to service car myself, however, if over my head, will definitely bring back to Hoover! Honest, knowledgeable, straightforward, no BS repair, as is almost nonexistent anymore. Thanks so much!

I have had half a dozen Mercedes from another GL, E320, E360 stationwagons and an E430. I followed Mike from the dealership to his private garage, Hoover Mercedes, and its been almost a decade I've known him. He and his son and other mechanics are top notch. He will bring me into the garage to show what they want to do, cost, what can wait, what can't etc. I appreciate their integrity in the work that they do. I can't say enough good things about their ability and talent in working on cars.

Mike Hoover and his crew are above and beyond anything i ever expected! They accurately diagnosed my problem in 15 minutes and had me rolling again at no charge! Highly Recommend
