I brought my BMW to Bavarian Performance Specialists after receiving a “coolant level low” warning. I was told to leave the car for a couple of days so they could diagnose the issue and provide an estimate. While I was waiting for the appointment, Hal added a coolant stop-leak additive so I could continue driving temporarily.

After the inspection, I was given an estimate of over $6,000. I clearly explained that I had a strict budget and would not proceed if the cost could not be brought within that range. There was no agreement to move forward with any repairs.

A couple of weeks later, I unexpectedly received a request for $140 for “repair and rack fees.” This was surprising, as I had not authorized any work and was never informed that there would be diagnostic or other charges. When I raised this, Hal sent an attachment claiming I had provided approval. The document simply stated “verbal approval” with no actual signature.

Additionally, the way the attachment was labeled was unprofessional and inappropriate.

Overall, this experience was disappointing. I would strongly advise others to ensure all costs and authorizations are clearly documented in writing before leaving their vehicle.

Hal, did a pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle sold by Inside Car Guys (I do not recommend, be very careful with them, very dishonest). Hal absolutely save me! The vehicle had numerous serious problems. We were in touch right away Hal stopped the pre-purchase inspection contacted me. I terminated my agreement with Inside Car Guys. Hal save me thousands & thousands of dollars on a bad vehicle purchase. Thank you Hal!
