    Today was my first time visiting and the group has certainly earned my trust. I went in to have a key programmed, which they did for a fair price. (I purchased the cut key and remote unit from esaabparts.com and asked another operation to program it---but they declined and seemed offended at the notion of programming a key which they had not ordered through their own shop.) When I made the same request of Silver Star, Joseph discussed with me the reasons to be careful about ordering keys and remote units online, and even went the extra mile to visit the site I was making the purchase from in order to ensure that I would be getting what I needed. Moving on...while on my way to the appointment, the Saab lost power suddenly and I had to do some special maneuvering to get it all the way to the shop. I explained the situation to Walt and he got right on it. It took a little while, but the shop diagnosed the problem -- limp home mode -- made the repair, and fully explained what that mode meant now, and what it might mean eventually. Walt and company also took the initiative to give the Saab a courtesy check-up -- tire pressure levels, fluids and such -- and to make some recommendations about upkeep moving forward. Ultimately, I walked away with a programmed key and the Saab running nicely. The final fee was reasonable and I believe that Silver Star is dedicated to provided excellent, honest service. They've won my confidence--and future business.

    I have a 2003 330xi and had them replace my front passenger side CV boot in 2018. The metal clips that hold the boot in place and keep dirt and debris out came off a few time and I had to keep taking it back to get them to secure it. After a while it was a waste of time when they we not able to get it to stay. 3.5 years later the boot is already torn and needs to be replaced. I can tell its been like this for a while based on the amount of grease and dirt around when the boot is torn. Of course they only have a 1 year warranty on their parts and labor. For an expensive repair that is common on these cars I would expect a better part to last longer. UPDATE - Joseph reach out to me and offered me the opportunity to bring it in for them to check out the problem and replace the part under warranty. When I picked up the car he took his time talking to me about the issue showing me pictures he took of the part and why it could have happened. He even took his time reading my codes because my check engine light was on. They have won me back as a customer and I appreciate their service. I also appreciate the quick turnaround time. I dropped the vehicle off and it was ready a few hours later.

    Silver Star is my trusted and reliable auto service shop in Annapolis. Their expertise in German cars translates into confidence they can solve any problem on my '03 BMW 530i (E39). Joseph and Walt provide courteous and respectful customer service and Silver Star mechanics do an expert job diagnosing and repairing problems. Importantly, they work expeditiously and offer great value vs. dealership or other repair shops. I heartily recommend Silver Star for your automotive repairs.

    I have a 1990 Saab turbo. How do you find a place to competently work on it? How about a shop that only works on four brands with Saab being one of them. They put in many hours working on a steering problem but charged for about half of them. To boot, they then gave me their, first time customer, 10 percent discount without me asking for it. I'll go back.

    Joseph and his team deserve 5+ stars all around. This place is so underrated for what they do. They have the best customer service I have ever experienced in any shop I have been to and they provide true value for the superior service every single time. They are pretty much a one stop shop for virtually all your car needs including getting your car registration and driver's license next door. I am picky about who works on my BMWs and Joseph and his team are always available to provide me with advice when I need it. His team takes care of both of my BMWs (one of which has high-end modifications and is of sentimental value to me) and provides the utmost care (plus washes the car after each service!). This team is knowledgeable, trustworthy, conscientious and also goes above and beyond to solve a problem. Whether you talk to Joseph, Walt or any team member, they are super helpful and nice. I would also deem this shop as female friendly. I never feel disrespected or "talked down to" because I'm a female who asks questions about her cars. I would not want to take my BMWs anywhere else in the Annapolis area. You will always get the best from Joseph and his team.

    Recently, I experienced the purest form of customer service as it relates to ther clivhe' "going above and beyond." The ineffable concern and integrity of my service advisor and his team was impeccable and quite refreshing! Stranded in Silver Spring after an appointment , I contacted Silver Star to inquire about a message on the display and to inquire about the vehicle's delay in starting. The concern exduded was two-fold in nature. My status was addressed from a safety perspective then as a client. Needless to say, the instructions encompassed such thoroughness, that I was diagnosed, towed to a nearby MB dealer and in a loaner car within two hours. One of Silver Star's greatest attributes is their ability to ensure the accuracy of your service records. Once the dealership diagnosed the alleged problem we immediately contacted Silver Star. In rebuttal, our service advisor immediately asked for our auhtorization in order to submit Silver Star's paperwork in substantiating the validity of the facts. Upon receipt of the facsimile, we were contacted by the dealership and informed that the initial cost for the repairs MB would honor. Due to the incontrovetible customer service exuded by our service managers Joseph and Tom, the initial diagnosis totalling approximately $1,000.00 was eradicated and NO CHARGE was expended! In short, the service we received from iur Silver Star team cannot be categorized anything less than extraordinary! ~~Drs. Michael and Tiajuana Pittman

    I fully appreciate everyone's efforts at Silver Star Service Center. They are the only shop that I let touch my SL55 AMG. They understand what it takes to keep my car is perfect running order. Service is always done on time if not early, and the car is delivered clean.

    The good guys at Silver Star are as professional and dependable as there is in the profession. How do you beat a family business that welcomes their customers each time they return like a long lost brother or sister....and you can flat out trust them just like family. Joseph and his team take personal and professional pride in everything they do on a vehicle and will only suggest exactly what needs to be addressed. I always leave the shop with a very confident feeling about my car knowing the service was performed to perfection. It makes no sense for me to go anywhere else.....really nice people who are highly competent and genuinely enjoy what they do......quality service at a very fair cost.

    The service I have always received at Silver Star is beyond exceptional. I take my 97 C230 only to them. It currently has over 257K miles and is running great! Even though I live over 2 hours away, I will still take my Mercedes back to them and request Mike. The techs at Silver Star are one-of-a-kind and know how to service any vehicle taken to them correctly -- the first time. Terry, in the Parts Department, is very knowledgeable about any part you ask him about. And, the Service Advisors Joe and Tom --- what can I said about them!! It seems to me that when Joe Hall started this business in 1987 he has stayed committed to exceptional customer service. So if you're looking for the best service facility in the area you need to contact Silver Star -- and tell them I referred you.

    I've owned two Mercedes and had both professionally serviced at Silver Star Service Center. The prompt, quality service and the knowledgeable, courteous staff made it a pleasure to bring my vehicles in for maintenance and repairs. I trust the Silver Star staff with my cars!

    I have a 1983 300D with over 500K on the odometer - this all because of the great care the car has received at Silver Star Service Center. We have been taking good care of since the first time I visited Joe Hall back in 1988. I tell everyone I meet about the reliable service I have received over the years.

    Joe and his son Joseph have helped me maintain my 1995 E320 to the highest level during past 11 years. This is why the car runs great with 307K on the odometer. I feel that there is not anything that can go wrong with my car that Silverstar cannot handle. Thanks for all of the fine work on my car for so many years.

    I recently was looking for someone new to performs some repairs on my Mercedes. I had have enough difficulties with dealer, I refused to bring my car there anymore. I walked in to Silver Star and was amazed by the great customer service and knowledge of Mercedes. I will never deal with a dealer again. I am so happy with Silver Star's service. I even got my car washed and vacuumed for free. Thanks Silver Star for making my car repair experience great. I will be back in the future.
