I’ve had my cars serviced at Mercedes Shop since 1998, and after 22 years of repairs—some major, some minor—I remain an highly satisfied customer. The original owner Helmut, from Austria, brought a sharp eye, a real passion for Mercedes, and a fair price to the many service checks and fixes I’ve needed over the years. The current owners and staff, as well as the mechanics who honed their skills from Helmut, are wonderful to work with and have more than once gone above and beyond for me.
Recently I had the misfortune of inadvertently parking in a spot too close to a concrete bumper with steel rebars slightly poking up through the top that I didn’t see. After I turned off the ignition, my car’s air suspension system ever so slightly lowered the car like it always does. When I came back to my car, started up and began to back out, I felt a tug and sluggishness that made me stop and look under the car. To my complete shock, the front bumper had nearly ripped off and seemed to be hanging on to the car by a thread. Apparently as the car settled and lowered itself when I’d turned it off, the two steel rebars ever-so-slightly sticking up from the top of both ends of the concrete bumper managed to bite into the underside of my front bumper. Those two teeth held firm as I tried to back up. My saving grace was that I hadn’t gunned the engine, otherwise the bumper would have completely torn away from the car.
It was around 4:45 pm on a Friday, and luckily I was just a few blocks away from Mercedes Shop. I frantically called explaining the situation, and Gloria assuredly told to me to drive over and they would see what they could do. I arrived around 5:00 pm, just when they should have been closing for the weekend. To my amazement, Michael and Danny were able to completely reattach the bumper with absolutely no signs of any damage whatsoever—and they stayed almost an hour and a half late in order to help me. Attached are 2 "before" photos of the damage, and 1 "after" shot of the finished job.
I can’t think of any other business that’s helped me out over the years like Gloria, Michael and Danny at Mercedes Shop have. You’ll get great service, and very fair prices. I can honestly say that in more than two decades as a customer, I have never once felt like I was being overcharged. In fact, their prices for A, B, C and D service checks are cheaper than you’ll pay at a dealer. And after many years of great repairs and incredible service, the team at Mercedes Shop has made me feel more like a friend than just a customer.
